Our Story
Our founder Anna is an airline pilot. In 2020 as the airline industry ground to a standstill she found herself spending more time at home than in the skies. With plenty of time to dream about travelling, she decided to combine her expertise in travel along with her love of candles to create Down Route Candles.
Our candles are hand poured in Glasgow, Scotland. We use eco soy wax due to its cleaner burn and sustainability properties with fragrances which are paraben and cruelty free.
The labels are inspired by retro baggage tags using IATA (International Air Transport Association) codes to identify the country. These assigned codes are unique and either based on the name of the airport, city or other meaningful identifier.
Down Route Candle scents evoke travel memories made and inspire those still to come.
